Gary Jones
Hi, I'm Gary Jones. I'm a financial advisor based in Lee's Summit, Missouri, with 18 years of experience helping clients plan for retirement, manage their investments, and prepare for important financial transitions.
I believe good financial planning starts with getting to know the person behind the numbers. I take the time to understand what motivates each client, what they want their future to look like, and what matters most to them. From there, we can build a plan together, put it into action, and revisit it as life and priorities change.
I take the time to understand what matters most to each client, then build a plan around their goals and adjust it as life changes.

Gary
Gary Jones is a financial advisor with 18 years of experience helping clients work through retirement planning, investment management, portfolio construction, tax considerations, and business and farm succession planning.
His interest in investing began well before he became an advisor. In the 1980s, Gary worked on the operations side of the financial industry with DST. As he began managing some of his own money, he realized that becoming a financial advisor was a natural next step and an opportunity to spend his career helping people.
Today, Gary works with a wide range of clients and believes each relationship should begin with a deeper understanding of what the client wants to accomplish. He takes time to learn about their priorities and motivations before developing a financial plan and investment strategy around their individual circumstances.
Gary also believes financial topics do not need to feel overwhelming. A central part of his work is helping clients understand complex decisions in straightforward terms so they can stay engaged with their plan. As life changes, Gary meets with clients to review their progress and determine whether their financial plan should change with it.

How did you become a financial advisor?
I have always been interested in the investment world. I worked on the operations side of the industry with DST in the 1980s and was also managing some of my own money. Over time, I realized that becoming a financial advisor was a logical next step. It gave me the opportunity to turn that interest in investing into a career centered on helping people.
What types of clients do you work with?
I work with all types of clients because financial goals look different for everyone. My job is to dig deeper than the numbers and understand what each person truly wants to accomplish. Once I understand their priorities and what motivates them, we can work together on a plan built around those goals.
What areas of expertise do you have?
My work includes retirement planning, business and farm succession planning, investment management, portfolio construction and implementation, and tax-aware planning. These areas often overlap, so I look at how the different pieces of a client's financial life work together.
What kinds of strategies do you help clients with?
I help clients with investment and planning strategies ranging from straightforward needs to more complex situations. Every client is different, so I start by understanding the need rather than beginning with a predetermined strategy. From there, we can develop an approach that fits the client's circumstances and long-term goals.
What is your favorite part of working with clients?
I love getting to know my clients, learning about their goals, and helping them work toward what matters to them. Finances can feel overwhelming, so I enjoy taking complicated topics and making them easier to understand. At the end of the day, I got into this business because I wanted to help people.
What is it like partnering with Savvy?
I appreciate that Savvy combines the feel of a smaller company with the tools and resources of a larger organization. The people are down-to-earth, collaborative, and willing to help. I came into this business because I wanted to help people, so it is valuable to have a team behind me that approaches the work with that same mindset.
