Greg Segal
I've spent more than 23 years helping individuals, families, and business owners make sense of their finances and navigate some of life's bigger decisions.
I believe good financial advice starts with understanding the person behind the numbers. Whether we're talking about retirement, investments, or a financial challenge that doesn't have an obvious answer, my approach is straightforward: ask good questions, think creatively, and find practical solutions that make sense for you.
Before becoming a financial advisor, I was a teacher and a business owner. Both experiences taught me a lot about people, problem-solving, and the importance of explaining things in a way that's easy to understand.
At Latitude Private Wealth, I bring that same mindset to every client relationship. No complicated conversations just for the sake of sounding sophisticated. Just thoughtful planning, honest discussions, and a genuine interest in helping you move forw
How can I help?
A Different Path. A Fresh Perspective.
Greg Segal didn't take the traditional route into wealth management, and he wouldn't have it any other way.
After graduating from California State University, Chico in 1995, Greg began his career as an elementary school teacher. He enjoyed teaching, but after five years, he decided to pursue something different. He went into business for himself, building a company around licensed Harley-Davidson artwork before eventually selling it.
At 33, Greg found himself considering his next chapter. During a conversation with his financial advisor, the idea of becoming an advisor himself came up. Greg had long been interested in the markets, enjoyed managing his own investments, and could happily spend hours talking about stocks. It seemed like a natural fit.
In 2004, he joined UBS's training program and began what would become a career spanning more than two decades in wealth management.
What Greg didn't anticipate was how much his teaching background would shape his approach to working with clients. He discovered that helping people understand financial concepts wasn't all that different from teaching in a classroom. Both required patience, clear communication, and an ability to make complicated ideas easier to understand.
Today, Greg works with entrepreneurs, business owners, executives, and families who appreciate having someone in their corner to help them navigate financial decisions.
He's known for approaching challenges with persistence, strategic thinking, and a willingness to explore possibilities others might overlook. But what matters most to him is the relationship behind the work.
Greg enjoys being someone clients can call when they're facing a difficult decision, working through a family matter, or celebrating a milestone. Over the years, many of those relationships have grown into genuine friendships.
Outside of work, Greg enjoys spending time with his wife, Heather, and their children, Marissa and Charlie. After years of coaching youth sports, he's found a new competitive outlet on the pickleball court.
I took a pretty unconventional path into wealth management.
I started my career as an elementary school teacher, which I loved, but after five years, I decided to try something different. I built a business around licensed Harley-Davidson artwork, ran it for five years, and eventually sold it.
At 33, I was figuring out my next move when my financial advisor suggested I consider getting into the business myself. I'd always enjoyed following the markets and managing my own investments, so it felt like a natural fit.
What I didn't expect was how much my teaching background would come into play. I still spend a lot of time helping people understand complicated topics. The only difference is that now we're talking about investments and financial planning instead of what's on the elementary school curriculum.
I work primarily with family-oriented entrepreneurs, business owners, and executives who want someone they can turn to for more than just investment advice.
My clients tend to value personal relationships and appreciate having an advisor who takes the time to understand their families, priorities, and the decisions they're facing.
I enjoy working with people who want to have real conversations about their finances and aren't afraid to explore different ways of approaching a challenge.
My background includes financial planning, investment management, retirement planning, real estate, alternative investments, strategic planning, and investing for impact.
After more than 23 years in wealth management, I've worked through a wide range of financial situations.
I enjoy looking at the bigger picture and helping clients understand how different decisions affect one another. Sometimes that means reviewing an investment portfolio. Other times, it means working through a family or business decision that has financial implications.
It really depends on what's happening in a client's life.
Sometimes there's an immediate problem that needs attention. Other times, we're thinking five, ten, or twenty years down the road.
I help clients with investment strategies, retirement planning, and broader financial decisions. I also enjoy situations that require a little more creativity. Not every challenge has an obvious answer, and I'm willing to explore different options until we find an approach that makes sense.
I don't believe in handing everyone the same playbook. Every family is different, and their financial strategy should reflect that.
I think it comes down to the relationships I build and how personally I take the work.
I don't see my role as simply managing investments. I want to be someone my clients feel comfortable calling when they're facing a tough decision, weighing an opportunity, or trying to work through something they haven't encountered before.
Over 23 years, I've seen plenty of situations that didn't come with an easy answer. I've learned to be persistent, think strategically, and look at problems from different angles.
Sometimes the answer is right in front of you. Sometimes you have to work a little harder to find it. I enjoy both.
The relationships, without question.
I'm intentional about the people I work with because I want those relationships to last. Over time, many of my clients have become genuine friends.
I get to know their families, what they're working toward, and what matters to them outside of their finances.
I see myself as both an advisor and a coach. I enjoy helping people work through challenges, but I get just as much satisfaction from celebrating their accomplishments alongside them.
That's what makes this work meaningful to me.
A few things stood out to me right away.
The technology is impressive, and I see real opportunities to use it to make the client experience more efficient and connected.
But what really sold me was the people. There's a lot of energy and enthusiasm at Savvy, and everyone I've worked with has been collaborative, supportive, and genuinely committed to what we're building.
I like being surrounded by people who are willing to share ideas, solve problems, and help each other succeed.
It's a great environment to be part of, and I'm excited about what it means for my clients.
