Kevin
Kevin Beutel, MBA, is a dedicated Wealth Manager in Albany, NY. His passion for financial guidance was sparked while working as a controller for an excavating company. Volunteering to teach a financial literacy course for a local nonprofit revealed his deep satisfaction in educating others and helping them achieve their next financial milestones. Inspired by this experience, and having witnessed the significant financial challenges and lack of professional guidance faced by the blue-collar workers at the excavating company during the 2008 financial crisis, Kevin launched his career as a financial advisor. He subsequently returned to school to earn an MBA with a Master’s Level Certificate in Financial Planning. Early in his career, he also assisted several federal clients with their taxes, which motivated him to specialize in navigating the complexities of federal benefits. In 2025, Kevin joined Savvy. He was drawn to the firm's technology, which allows him to streamline administrative tasks and dedicate more personal time to assisting clients. Outside the office, Kevin enjoys the natural beauty of Upstate New York through activities like woodworking, gardening, hiking, and occasional kayaking with his wife.
How did you become a financial advisor?
While working as a controller for an excavating company, I volunteered to teach a financial literacy course for a local nonprofit. Through this experience, I discovered my passion for teaching and helping students take their next steps. This inspired me to return to school, where I earned an MBA with a Master’s Level Certificate in Financial Planning. In 2008, I witnessed firsthand the financial challenges and lack of guidance faced by blue-collar workers at the excavating company. These early experiences launched my career in financial advisory and fueled my commitment to helping others.

I primarily work with federal and state employees, including those from the post office, IRS, and Department of Defense.
What areas of expertise do you have?

I help clients break down these complex systems into simple, understandable concepts.
What kinds of strategies do you help clients with?
I focus on financial planning, tax optimization, and retirement planning strategies for my clients.
What is your favorite part of working with clients?
My favorite part of working with clients is simplifying complex and intimidating financial concepts into clear, actionable steps.
What is it like partnering with Savvy?
Personal connections with clients are vital to me, and I strive to dedicate as much time as possible to them. Previously, administrative tasks and obligations consumed much of my time, limiting my client interactions. By joining Savvy, I leverage their technology and service level to reclaim time for my clients. The culture, collaboration, and excitement the team has about what we do, I’ve never experienced anything like it.
