Mike Murphy is a wealth management professional with 25 years of experience helping high-net-worth individuals and families manage their investments and work toward their financial goals. Throughout his career, he has focused on developing long-term client relationships and delivering personalized investment strategies that account for each client's needs and circumstances.

Mike began his career at BNY Mellon, where he spent more than 11 years working in wealth management. He later joined CW Advisors, spending more than 12 years with the organization before transitioning to Savvy in 2026. His background includes active equity and fixed-income management, personal direct indexing, alternative investments, risk management, and estate settlement considerations.

A graduate of Babson College, Mike went on to earn his master's degree from Boston University and his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. He is also affiliated with the Boston Security Analysts Society.

For Mike, wealth management is about more than overseeing portfolios. He values the opportunity to work closely with individuals and families over many years, developing meaningful connections while helping them navigate financial decisions through different stages of life.

How did you become a financial advisor?

I began working in wealth management right out of college and quickly discovered how much I enjoyed building relationships with individuals and families. I was drawn to the combination of investment analysis and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's financial lives.

Over the past 25 years, I've had the opportunity to work at BNY Mellon and CW Advisors, gaining experience across different market environments and developing long-standing client relationships. That combination of investment management and personal connection continues to be what I enjoy most about my career.

What types of clients do you work with?

I primarily work with high-net-worth individuals and families who are looking for personalized investment management and ongoing financial guidance. Many of my clients have financial circumstances that require careful attention to portfolio construction, risk management, and long-term planning.

I enjoy getting to know each client's priorities and helping them develop an investment approach that reflects their individual needs, whether they're managing accumulated wealth, navigating family financial decisions, or thinking about the next generation.

What areas of expertise do you have?

My background is primarily in investment management, with a focus on active equity and fixed-income strategies, risk management, and personal direct indexing. I also have experience with alternative investments and estate settlement considerations.

I work to bring these different areas together in a way that reflects each client's financial situation, investment preferences, and long-term objectives.

What kinds of strategies do you help clients with?

I help clients develop and manage investment portfolios using a combination of active equity and fixed-income strategies, personal direct indexing, and alternative investments when appropriate.

My approach begins with understanding each client's goals, risk tolerance, and broader financial circumstances. From there, I focus on constructing and maintaining a portfolio that reflects those priorities, while making adjustments as market conditions and personal needs change.

Is there a unique approach that sets you apart?

I believe effective wealth management requires a high level of personal attention. Every client has different goals, family circumstances, and financial considerations, so I don't believe in applying the same investment approach to everyone.

I take the time to understand the details of each client's situation and develop strategies that reflect their needs. I also believe in being accessible and maintaining an ongoing dialogue, so clients feel informed and involved in decisions about their wealth.

What is your favorite part about working with clients?

My favorite part of wealth management is the relationships I build with clients and their families. Working together over many years creates opportunities to develop meaningful personal connections that extend beyond conversations about investments.

It's rewarding to be part of a client's financial journey, understand how their priorities evolve, and continue providing guidance as they navigate different stages of life.

What is it like partnering with Savvy?

What I appreciate about Savvy is the combination of technology and support available to advisors. Having access to modern tools and a strong support structure allows me to spend more time focusing on client relationships and investment management.

I believe this environment complements my high-touch approach and helps me provide the personalized attention that individuals and families value.
