Scott Eichler
Hi there 👋 I'm Scott. I help Southern California property owners defer the tax on a property sale, without forcing them into a rushed 1031 exchange, or a property they don't want to manage.
I specialize in 1031 exchanges, Delaware Statutory Trusts (DSTs), and Qualified Opportunity Zones for real estate owners across Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego, and the Inland Empire. Realtors and CPAs also send clients my way when a transaction has tax issues, lending problems, or a client that wants to sell and wants to stop managing property.

Scott Eichler is a financial advisor based in Southern California, specializing in 1031 exchanges, Delaware Statutory Trusts, and tax-deferred real estate transactions. Over nearly two decades in wealth management, he's built a practice around helping property owners across Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego, and the Inland Empire navigate a sale without a rushed exchange or a property they don't want. Realtors and CPAs regularly refer clients to Scott when a transaction raises a tax question outside their own scope. His practice, Standing Oak Advisors, gives clients tools to see their numbers and their options before they ever get on a call: a calculator that estimates what they'd owe, and a decision tree that narrows down which strategy fits.

How did you become a financial advisor?
In 1998, I discovered a shared passion for investing with my grandfather, a bond that united us. By 2006, it dawned on me that my father's financial success in investments only came after he connected with a skilled financial advisor. Inspired by this, I aspired to replicate the positive impact that my father's advisor had on our family for other households.
What types of clients do you work with?
Property owners across Southern California, generally with $1M or more in net worth, who are selling or have sold an investment property and want to defer the tax the right way. I also work closely with realtors and CPAs, who bring clients to me when a transaction raises questions outside their comfort zone.
What areas of expertise do you have?
1031 exchanges, Delaware Statutory Trusts, Qualified Opportunity Zones, and tax-deferred strategies for real estate transactions.
What kinds of strategies do you help clients with?
My philosophy revolves around the idea that products, while not direct solutions, function as tools to address various needs. Just like how a quality product can appear ineffective in the wrong context – it's like receiving a hammer when the task calls for cutting wood. The true challenge arises not from the hammer itself, but from its misapplication in a mismatched scenario.
What is your favorite part of working with clients?
Building long term relationships and finding unique solutions.
What is it like partnering with Savvy?
Savvy's technology greatly boosts my productivity through task automation, it also gives me access to extensive information resources to build the right portfolios for my clients, and it allows for seamless communication with my clients.
