How did you become a financial advisor?

I started my career on Wall Street, but over time I realized I wanted to work more directly with people and their financial lives. I’ve always enjoyed solving problems and improving outcomes for people, and financial advising gave me the chance to do that with families planning for their futures. More than 20 years later, that's what I still value about this work.

What areas of expertise do you have?

My work centers on retirement planning, tax minimization, income planning, Social Security planning, and estate planning. These areas are closely connected, particularly as clients approach retirement, so I look at how decisions in one area may affect the others.

What types of clients do you work with?

I primarily work with families nearing retirement who want a clear plan for the years ahead. Many are thinking about how to reduce their tax burden, create a lifetime income strategy, make informed Social Security decisions, and preserve the investments they have spent years building. They often want someone who will proactively manage the different pieces of their financial lives so they can spend more of their time enjoying what they have worked toward.

What types of strategies do you usually help clients with?

I help clients work through questions such as when to begin Social Security, how to approach taxes throughout retirement, and how to create a lifetime income strategy. The goal is to bring these decisions together within a coordinated plan rather than treating each one separately.

Is there a unique approach that sets you apart?

Being proactive is central to how I work. I stay on top of changes in my clients’ lives and look ahead for issues or planning opportunities that may need attention. I also collaborate directly with clients’ CPAs and other trusted professionals when appropriate so their tax, retirement, estate, and broader financial planning can be coordinated.

What is your favorite part about working with clients?

Few professions allow you to have such a direct, positive impact on people’s lives. I especially enjoy guiding clients through significant transitions, including the move into retirement, and helping them work through the financial decisions that come with those changes.
