How did you become a financial advisor?

I’ve long been drawn to helping people connect their money with the life they actually want to live. Earlier in my career, I worked in institutional portfolio construction and research, where I built, managed, and stress-tested portfolios across a range of market cycles.

Over time, I realized I wanted to apply that experience more personally. Moving into comprehensive wealth management gave me the opportunity to bring portfolio design together with tax planning, cash flow, risk management, estate considerations, and the other decisions that shape a client’s financial life.

Today, as a CFA®, CFP®, and CPWA®, I work with clients on issues such as concentrated equity, long-term portfolio planning, and creating greater flexibility around when and how they work.

What areas of expertise do you have?

Much of my work centers on concentration risk and equity compensation, including RSUs, stock options, and IPO-related planning for professionals in technology and other growth-oriented industries.

I also work with tax planning strategies, portfolio construction, risk management, retirement and lifestyle planning, real estate, and alternative investments. This can include areas such as Roth conversions, 1031 DSTs, estate considerations, multifamily real estate, and syndications.

My background in institutional investing influences how I evaluate portfolios, while my CFP® and CPWA® training helps me connect those investment decisions to the rest of a client’s financial life.

What types of clients do you work with?

I primarily work with high-earning professionals and executives who have concentrated RSU or equity positions. Many are dealing with IPO liquidity events, tax considerations, growing businesses, or other financial decisions that come with increasing complexity.

I also work with families, real estate investors, and individuals thinking about multigenerational planning or building a more work-optional lifestyle. I tend to connect well with people who appreciate straightforward guidance and want their taxes, investments, cash flow, and lifestyle goals considered together.

What types of strategies do you usually help clients with?

The strategies depend on each client’s situation. Common areas include tax-aware portfolio construction and asset location, reducing concentration in a single company or equity position, cash flow planning for a work-optional transition, retirement planning, Roth strategies, gifting, legacy considerations, and integrating real estate into the broader financial plan.

For clients with concentrated stock, that may involve evaluating systematic sales, diversification, or other approaches while considering the tax impact. I also use scenario modeling to help clients see how different decisions may affect their family goals, lifestyle, and long-term plan.

My preference is for carefully researched, long-term approaches rather than reacting to short-term market trends.

Is there a unique approach that sets you apart?

My approach combines an institutional investment background with a broader view of what wealth is meant to support. I spent years building, managing, and stress-testing portfolios, and I bring that experience into personal financial planning.

I think about wealth across six dimensions: capital, time, agency, health, meaning, and legacy. Capital provides the financial foundation, but the other five dimensions help frame what those resources are ultimately for.

Technology and AI-supported modeling can help us evaluate a wide range of possible outcomes, but human judgment remains central to the process. My role is to help clients evaluate those possibilities, understand the tradeoffs, and make choices that reflect what matters to them.

What is your favorite part about working with clients?

What I enjoy most is helping people connect the different pieces of their financial lives. Investments, taxes, career decisions, family priorities, and lifestyle goals can easily be treated as separate topics, but they often influence one another.

It is rewarding to help clients see those connections more clearly and make decisions that give them greater flexibility around their time and what they want their wealth to support.
