Nicole Burdick, CFP®, AAMS®
Hi, I'm Nicole.
I'm the founder of Money Maven Financial, where I help people, especially women, bring clarity and organization to their financial lives. I believe financial planning should feel approachable, thoughtful, and connected to the realities of everyday life.
Whether you're navigating a major life transition, planning for retirement, thinking about charitable giving, or simply trying to make sense of your financial picture, my goal is to help you understand your options and make informed decisions with confidence. I take time to get to know each client so together we can build strategies that align with your values, your goals, and the life you want to create.
"I help people organize their financial lives so they can make confident decisions that reflect what matters most to them, without shame or intimidation.”

Get to know Nicole
Nicole Burdick is the founder of Money Maven Financial and a financial advisor with more than a decade of experience helping clients organize their financial lives and make thoughtful financial decisions.
Her path into financial planning began long before she entered the industry professionally. In her early twenties, she volunteered as a financial literacy instructor and budget coach, discovering a passion for helping people build confidence around money. Before becoming a financial advisor, Nicole worked in real estate and later built a professional organizing business. Those experiences continue to influence how she works today. While she once helped people organize their homes, she now helps them organize their financial lives with the same thoughtful and practical approach.
Nicole advises clients on financial planning, investment management, retirement planning, tax-aware strategies, insurance, debt management, Social Security, and estate planning. She has a particular interest in legacy and charitable planning, helping clients create giving strategies that reflect their values while considering tax and estate planning opportunities.
She especially enjoys supporting clients through significant life transitions, including divorce, the loss of a spouse, inheritances, caregiving responsibilities, career changes, and becoming the primary financial decision-maker.
Nicole is also the author of The Money Maven Manual, where she combines practical education with visual tools that make financial concepts easier to understand. She is currently pursuing graduate studies in financial therapy and looks forward to incorporating those principles into her work with clients.
Based in Bellingham, Washington, Nicole works with clients across the country.

Helping people with money has been a consistent theme throughout my life. In my early twenties, I volunteered as both a financial literacy teacher and budget coach because I loved helping people feel more confident with their finances.
After working in real estate and later running a professional organizing business, I realized I wanted to combine my passion for education, organization, and personal finance. In 2014, I earned my securities and insurance licenses and began my career as a financial advisor.
As I worked with more clients, I noticed how many people, especially women, carried anxiety or shame around money. That inspired me to create Money Maven Financial, where financial planning is centered on education, compassion, and helping people make informed decisions that align with their values.
My work often includes financial planning, investment management, tax planning considerations, retirement planning, and legacy planning.
I have supported many clients through significant life events including divorce, the loss of a spouse, inheritances, and caregiving transitions. My background in real estate and rental property ownership also helps inform conversations around homeownership and real estate investing.
I enjoy working with people who are looking for an ongoing financial guide rather than someone who only manages investments. My clients want to understand their finances, participate in the planning process, and make decisions that support the life they want to build.
Many of the people I work with value collaboration, thoughtful planning, and having someone who takes the time to understand both their financial picture and their personal priorities.
I focus on tax planning and optimization because they are crucial aspects to consider when managing your finances. By strategizing efficient ways to minimize tax liabilities and maximize savings, my clients can plan for the future. Additionally, I also help clients with retirement planning, Investment management, and cash flow planning because they are essential for maintaining a healthy financial balance.
I enjoy developing strategies that make managing money feel more approachable while reflecting each client's personal values.
Sometimes that means reviewing spending habits to better align finances with what matters most. Other times it involves charitable giving strategies that coordinate tax planning and estate planning considerations, helping clients direct more of their resources toward causes they care about.
Every plan is built around each client's unique goals and circumstances.
I bring an ADHD-aware perspective into my practice, recognizing that many people process information and make decisions differently.
I frequently create visual illustrations to simplify financial concepts and develop practical systems that help clients who experience money avoidance, time blindness, or analysis paralysis.
I'm also pursuing graduate studies in financial therapy, which continues to shape how I think about the emotional side of financial decision-making and client relationships.
It's a privilege to build lasting relationships and support people through many of life's biggest transitions.
I've worked with clients facing overwhelming debt as well as those managing significant wealth. Regardless of where someone starts, I enjoy creating a space where they can ask questions, work through complicated situations, and gain a clearer understanding of their financial choices.
Watching clients grow more confident over time is one of the most rewarding parts of my work.
One of the things I appreciate most about working with Savvy is its thoughtful technology and ability to continually adapt as the financial landscape evolves.
The platform makes it easy for clients to understand how they work with their advisor while supporting my own commitment to transparency and straightforward communication. It allows me to spend more time focusing on meaningful planning conversations and helping clients navigate their financial lives with clarity.
