Get to know Randy
Randy M. Long is the Founder of Long Family Office and BuildProveSell.com companies, and the creator of the BulletProof Exit Process. He works with business owners who want to create enduring family legacies, prepare their businesses for sale, or transition ownership to the next generation.
With more than 39 years in wealth management and over 30 years across law and finance, Randy brings a wide-ranging background to his work with clients. He practiced law in estate planning and business transactions for 25 years, has managed family wealth for clients since 1987, and earned his Certified Financial Planner designation from the University of Southern California.
Randy is also the author of BulletProof Your Exit and The BraveHeart Exit: 7 Steps to Creating Your Family Business Legacy. Outside of his advisory work, he has served as a trustee, board member, and consultant for national Christian nonprofits. He and his wife, Lydia, have raised five children while growing their own family businesses, giving him personal perspective on the balance between business success, family, and legacy.

I started working toward this path in college because I wanted to serve entrepreneurs. Early on, I thought becoming a CFPĀ® professional was the best way to do that. After a few years, I realized business owners often need guidance that goes beyond personal financial planning, which led me to law school as well.
My work includes estate planning, exit planning, investment management, and succession planning. I also bring a legal background and hands-on portfolio construction experience to the planning process.
I primarily work with business owners and their families. I look for client relationships where I can add meaningful value, and I prefer deep, long-term relationships with people who want thoughtful guidance over time.
I focus on tax planning and optimization because they are crucial aspects to consider when managing your finances. By strategizing efficient ways to minimize tax liabilities and maximize savings, my clients can plan for the future. Additionally, I also help clients with retirement planning, Investment management, and cash flow planning because they are essential for maintaining a healthy financial balance.
