Review Your Custom Retirement Plan

Here, we aim to answer the biggest questions you have about retirement. We dig deep to find ways to improve and optimize your current financial profile. We let the plan numbers and data highlight where we can potentially make improvements for you, including reviewing income and cash flows, taxes, investments, and portfolio projections, pension planning, RMD strategies, Roth conversion analysis, and more.

We also cover potential results with our suggested improvements and why it can make sense to have us help. You essentially get a chance to “kick the tires,” and if it makes sense, we can then continue and take the next steps.

Ongoing Support for Clients

We continually make ongoing adjustments to the portfolio and plan as life happens. We aim to provide clients with an experience that lessens their financial stress and endeavors to offer more confidence and clarity with a fiduciary in their corner. Get to know Brian

Brian Jellig, CFP®, is a Principal Wealth Advisor in San Diego, California, who endeavors to help his clients retire with confidence and clarity through comprehensive, customized retirement income planning strategies.

Growing up here in San Diego, CA, Brian spent a lot of time around his father, a local Estate Planning Attorney with a private practice, and his grandfather, a career Electrical Engineer for Kearfott. His conversations around the dinner table as a kid were on topics like the power of “compound interest over time” and the concept that “your dollars are your employees and you need to put them to work.” These laid the groundwork for a meaningful career as a financial advisor.

Brian graduated from PLNU in San Diego, CA, and spent many years working in the business world. In those working years, he always invested extra funds into a family trust portfolio he set up. He also invested in rental properties both locally and out of state.

Following the passing of both his grandparents, Brian didn’t want all the financial knowledge he had gained to go to waste. He became inspired to share his knowledge and experience to help others gain their financial independence.

As a Principal Wealth Advisor, he has worked for Edward Jones, Epstein & White, and Mercer Advisors. Today, he is excited about continuing his career and serving clients at Savvy.

How did you become a financial advisor?

Looking back, my path to becoming a financial advisor was destined from a very early age.

Growing up here in San Diego, CA, I spent a lot of time around my father, a local Estate Planning Attorney with a private practice, and my grandfather, a career Electrical Engineer for Kearfott. Our conversations around the dinner table as a kid were on topics like the power of “compound interest over time” and the concept that “your dollars are your employees and you need to put them to work.” These laid the groundwork for a meaningful career as a financial advisor.

After I graduated from PLNU in San Diego, CA, I spent many years working in the business world. In those working years, I always invested extra funds into a family trust portfolio I set up. I also invested in rental properties both locally and out of state.

Following the passing of both of my grandparents, I didn’t want all the financial knowledge I gained to go to waste. I became inspired to share my knowledge and experience to help others gain their financial independence.

Is there a unique approach that sets you apart?

I’m a specialist in the specific area of retirement..  I’m also a fiduciary, which means I’m legally obligated to act in your best interest at all times, no matter what. As for my specific approach, I offer up to two meetings with you at no obligation and no cost to you whatsoever. If we can mutually see that our expertise can positively impact your life and overall situation, then we will usually extend an offer to welcome you aboard as a client. At that point, if you agree, then we can continue together, working to improve and optimize your financial life and portfolio strategy.

What types of clients do you work with?

I work with people who are looking to retire or become financially independent. That generally ends up being people who are anywhere from one to ten years from retirement.

WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE PART ABOUT WORKING WITH CLIENTS

I tell almost all of my clients that “I am on a mission to help my clients figure out retirement.”  For me, it truly does feel like that. If you are my client, you have a champion on your side. I will do everything I can to make sure you succeed. The best part about working with clients is being able to share in the enjoyment and positive impact that financial advice and planning can bring to their families. I am grateful and honored to be in a position where I have the opportunity to help people with something as important as their retirement or their journey to financial independence.  continually rewarding to see clients achieve success that they never thought they would have, which is why my work never feels like a “job.”

What areas of expertise do you have?

My expertise lies in simplifying the complexities around investments, finances, and retirement.

My focus is on people who are looking to retire in the future or immediately. I provide my experience and skills to help them build a custom financial plan, tailored to their specific situation, along with an investment strategy that addresses their needs in regards to income, growth, tax efficiency, and risk mitigation.

Working with Savvy

Savvy stands out in several key ways. First, they built their platform with clients in mind. Their goal is to create a smooth, efficient, and elegant interface that empowers clients with information in one place. Second, Savvy uses modern technology to help advisors access more information quickly and easily. Advisors can communicate with other departments, trading teams, and even Fidelity or Schwab directly in real time. This helps clients succeed. Third, Savvy gives both clients and advisors access to individualized support. They offer the latest in financial planning strategies, tax planning analysis, portfolio analysis, investment strategies for public and private markets, alternative strategies, and direct indexing options. This includes tax loss harvesting and proprietary risk-adjusted buffered investments. The Savvy team is highly skilled and utilizes AI to boost operational output while improving speed and accuracy for administrative support. In my opinion, their holistic, tech-forward platform is a fresh approach in the outdated world of financial services.

What types of strategies do you usually help clients with?

I create and manage investments for my clients. The foundation of that management comes from a comprehensive financial plan that is truly tailored to each individual. Once a financial plan is put together, we discuss investment preferences. This can include investing for growth, income, tax efficiency, liquidity, guarantees, or all of the above. The key to this strategy is that it helps the client have clarity about the direction they are heading in and gives them insight into what to expect and have a much better understanding of not just “how” they are invested but “why” they are invested the way they are.
