How did you become a financial advisor?

After graduating from college, with aspirations of pursuing a career in advertising/communications, life took an unexpected turn and led me to my first real job as a teller at a local bank. What I initially thought would be a temporary gig quickly transformed into a newfound passion. In just a few months, I absorbed more knowledge about personal finance than I had accumulated throughout my entire life. The experience opened my eyes to the fact that there was so much more for me to learn in this field. Moreover, I discovered that I not only enjoyed expanding my own understanding of personal finance but also sharing my newfound knowledge with others.

Fast forward several years, and my love for this subject matter has evolved into a fascination with more complex financial topics. Once again, my inclination to share what I've learned with others has remained steadfast. I had the privilege of spearheading a bank program that trained licensed bankers, which allowed me to dip my toes into the realm of financial advising. When the opportunity presented itself for me to fully embrace the role of a financial advisor, I eagerly seized it with both hands. I have worked in banking for over thirteen years, have been an advisor for over seven years and I look forward to continuing to help.

What unique approach sets you apart?

My approach leans into my natural ability to actively listen to clients, their specific situation, and needs. My advice is catered to each individual client. I will break complex topics down as much as needed to ensure each client fully understands what we’re discussing or planning to do with their finances. Consistently, my clients have provided feedback expressing gratitude for my dedication to helping them comprehend their finances and strategies. My clients often come to me confused and fearful about finances, but leave our meetings feeling comforted and informed.

What types of clients do you work with?

My average client has assets from $100k-$250k, but I have several clients that range in assets from $1-5M. With a broad range of client experiences, I have been privileged to assist hundreds of people with their ambitions to build, protect, and transition their wealth. This has afforded me keen insight into an array of financial situations, including very specific and complex tax and investment scenarios while still being able to relate to those just getting started in their wealth journey.

FUN FACT:  I’ve worked with five individual lottery winners in my career!

What is your favorite part about working with clients?

Everyone has something that feeds their soul. For me, that something is music and the joy of imparting knowledge to others. I truly love sharing the knowledge I’ve learned, even through hard-earned experiences, with those who seek answers. I enjoy building relationships with my clients, hearing their stories, and getting to know them and their families. I consider it a privilege to play a small part in each client's unique journey. It’s these conversations and relationships that I reflect on and cherish at the end of each day.
