Gunnar Johnson, CKA®
Hi 👋🏼 I’m Gunnar. I work with families and business owners who want their financial decisions to reflect what matters most to them. For many of my clients, that includes thinking intentionally about stewardship, generosity, and the purpose behind their wealth.
My background in financial counseling, business ownership, ministry, and charitable planning shapes how I approach investment management and financial planning. At True Harvest Private Wealth, I help clients connect their resources with their values and long-term goals.
“I enjoy getting to know people on a deep and personal level, understanding what matters most to them, and helping them make thoughtful decisions about how they earn, manage, and give their resources.”

Get to know Gunnar
Gunnar Johnson is a wealth manager, business owner, nonprofit leader, investor, and consultant who works with business owners and families seeking to manage their wealth with greater purpose. His perspective has been shaped by decades spent at the intersection of financial stewardship, ministry, business ownership, and charitable planning.
Gunnar’s path began in 1999 with Crown Financial Ministries, where his work in biblical financial counseling laid the foundation for a career centered on the relationship between faith and finances. He later became a budget coach and worked alongside churches to help individuals and families think intentionally about money and possessions. In 2004, Ron Blue invited Gunnar to help build what became Kingdom Advisors, and Gunnar completed the Certified Kingdom Advisor® training in 2006.
His work has continued across ministry, nonprofit leadership, consulting, and entrepreneurship. Gunnar served for 11 years as an executive pastor and spent 12 years as a board member or president of the Christian Stewardship Network. He also spent 15 years serving alongside Israel Firstfruits, supporting entrepreneurship and economic development in Israel. As the owner of five businesses himself, Gunnar understands both the challenges and the rewards that can come with building and leading a company.
Over the years, Gunnar saw a recurring challenge. Generous people wanted to support causes close to their hearts, but the complexities of business ownership, financial planning, and charitable decisions could make it difficult to know how and when to act. That experience ultimately led him into wealth management and to True Harvest Private Wealth.
Today, Gunnar helps families and business owners think through investment planning, strategic spending, charitable goals, and the broader purpose behind their wealth. For clients who share his Christian worldview, that can include conversations about the theology of money and possessions and what faithful stewardship looks like in practice.
That commitment to generosity extends beyond Gunnar’s work with clients. He is involved with Dream Centers, an organization serving vulnerable women and children in Colorado Springs.
Outside of work, Gunnar enjoys exploring Colorado by motorcycle and on skis. He and his wife, Missy, especially enjoy spending time with their granddaughter, Charlie.

My journey into financial advising really started in 1999 when I began working with Crown Financial Ministries. That experience led me into budget coaching and biblical financial counseling, and eventually to working with churches full-time on questions surrounding money, stewardship, and generosity.
In 2004, Ron Blue asked me to join the team that was building the Christian Financial Planner’s Network, which later became Kingdom Advisors. I completed the Certified Kingdom Advisor® training in January 2006. From there, I spent years working in ministry, nonprofit leadership, consulting, and business ownership.
When I turned 50, moving into wealth management felt like a natural next chapter. I took the Series 65 and joined True Harvest Private Wealth so I could bring together the principles I had spent decades teaching with investment planning and wealth management.
I primarily work with families, business owners, and investment-focused clients. I especially enjoy working with people who share a Christian worldview and want to think intentionally about the purpose behind their wealth.
For those clients, financial planning can involve questions that go beyond investment decisions. We may talk about generosity, lifestyle, business ownership, family, and how their financial resources can reflect the values and priorities that matter most to them.
My work is centered on charitable planning and investment planning. I also bring decades of experience in biblical financial counseling, ministry, nonprofit leadership, and business ownership.
Those experiences help me approach financial conversations from both a practical and values-based perspective, particularly when clients are thinking through generosity, stewardship, business decisions, and the role they want wealth to play in their lives.
I help clients connect their investment and financial planning decisions with the bigger questions they are trying to answer. For clients approaching money through a biblical worldview, that can mean wrestling with questions like, “How much is enough?”, “How much should I give?”, and “How much should I keep?”
From there, we can look at the practical side of those conversations, including investment planning, strategic spending decisions, charitable goals, and longer-term financial planning.
My background is rooted in teaching the theology of money and possessions, and that perspective continues to shape how I work with clients today. I believe financial decisions can be both practical and deeply personal, particularly for people who see stewardship as an important part of their faith.
I also understand business ownership firsthand. Having owned five businesses, I can relate to the responsibility, uncertainty, opportunity, and joy that can come with entrepreneurship. That experience helps me have deeper conversations with business owners about both their financial decisions and the purpose behind what they are building.
I really enjoy getting to know people on a deep and personal level. Financial conversations often reveal what someone cares about most, whether that is their family, their business, their faith, their generosity, or the legacy they hope to leave.
Being able to understand those priorities and walk alongside clients as they make important decisions is what makes this work meaningful to me. When my clients make progress toward what matters to them, I get to share in that experience.
I appreciate Savvy’s strong focus on technology and the resources it brings to the advisor-client relationship. The platform gives me tools that support the practical side of financial planning while allowing me to keep my attention where I believe it belongs: on meaningful conversations, thoughtful planning, and the people I serve.
