Lauren Lindsay, CFPÂŽ

Financial Planning has been my career for 28 years and it is not just my job, it is my passion. I help my clients navigating life transitions make sense of their financial lives with clear, personal planning. Before becoming a financial planner, I was an English teacher. That background still shapes how I work today. I take the time to explain financial decisions in plain language, answer questions without judgment, and build plans that reflect each client’s goals, values, and real life.

How did you become a financial advisor?

I left teaching when I was 28 and took a role at Putnam Investments in Boston, answering calls from clients in 401(k) plans. I quickly realized finance was a language I could not only learn but translate for others, and that my teaching background could help me explain challenging concepts in a way people could understand. Putnam supported me in earning my CFPÂŽ, and that set the course for the rest of my career.

What areas of expertise do you have?

My work centers on comprehensive fee-only financial planning. I also bring a background in 401(k) plans, employee benefits, and Employee Assistance Programs, and I regularly lead seminars for women's groups and schools to help them build financial confidence.

What types of clients do you work with?

I work with individuals, couples, small business owners, and people who value a fee-based planning relationship. I also enjoy working with women, including those who are widowed, divorced, or never married.

What types of strategies do you usually help clients with?

I help clients with goals-based comprehensive planning. That often includes retirement planning, cash flow, benefits decisions, income planning, and organizing the moving pieces of their financial lives.

Is there a unique approach that sets you apart?

As a former teacher, I naturally approach financial planning through education and communication. I enjoy helping clients understand the “why” behind decisions instead of simply telling them what to do. I also bring a compassionate and empathetic approach to relationships, because financial planning is personal and every client’s situation is different.

What is your favorite part about working with clients?

I love helping people figure out what success looks like for them. Every person is different, and the planning should meet them where they are.
