My past experience as a consultant and risk management professional provided the foundation for the advisor that I am today. Aaron specializes in helping clients plan for financial independence through comprehensive, tax-efficient wealth strategies built around each client’s unique values, goals, and life mission. Aaron works with his clients to build a personalized wealth plan, by developing a trusting relationship through actively listening and understanding each client’s goals, investing experiences, and risks and fears. With over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, Aaron understands the complexities involved in helping clients navigate their financial goals including investments, taxes, risk management, and giving and legacy strategies.

Prior to becoming a financial advisor, Aaron worked as a consultant with a leading global CPA and consulting firm, helping financial services companies improve operations and compliance risk management. He later led operational risk teams at local firms and a Minneapolis hedge fund, deepening his interest in investing and the markets. This experience built the foundation for his advisory work, giving him a broad industry perspective and the ability to assess clients’ goals as they pursue financial independence. Today, Aaron's team serves employees with stock compensation at private and public companies, as well as consultants and business owners. They also guide individuals nearing or in retirement, with expertise in stock compensation planning, tax mitigation, retirement planning, and investment management.

How did you become a financial advisor?

My journey to becoming a financial advisor started with a conversation that changed my perspective. While working in corporate risk management, a close friend, who was also my financial advisor, noticed that I wasn’t truly fulfilled in my career. He pointed out that with my CPA background and passion for helping people, I had the skills to make a real impact as a financial advisor. At first, I brushed it off, but as more friends and colleagues echoed the same sentiment, I started to seriously explore the profession.

As I learned more, met with advisors, and saw firsthand how I could help families build a secure financial future, I knew this was the right path for me. Making the transition was one of the best decisions I’ve made. I now have the privilege of guiding clients toward their goals and dreams, and nothing is more rewarding than seeing the positive impact of a well-crafted wealth plan.

What types of clients do you work with?

I specialize in working with high-earning and high-net-worth clients interested in growing their wealth for their retirement, and their families with a comprehensive wealth plan. Having held leadership positions in corporate America, I enjoy working with business owners, senior management and executives to navigate the tax complexities that come with high income, RSUs, ISOs, and deferred compensation plans. 

What areas of expertise do you have?

My expertise lies in developing comprehensive wealth plans with a strong emphasis on tax efficiency, Social Security strategies, and estate planning. As a CPA, I leverage my background to help clients structure their finances in a way that minimizes tax burdens and maximizes long-term wealth preservation.

What types of strategies do you usually help clients with?

I help clients navigate and understand the complexities of the tax code and work alongside their estate attorney(s) to create the estate plans that match their wishes  while being as tax efficient as possible. My focus is on ensuring that their legacy is preserved. This may include using trust structures to remove assets from their estate prior to reaching Federal and/or State estate tax limits. By proactively planning, I can help my clients protect their wealth for future generations, while staying aligned with their long-term goals.

Is there a unique approach that sets you apart?

I take the time to understand my clients' values, goals, and what they truly need from an advisor. By building strong relationships and gaining insight into their unique circumstances, I can better create customized wealth plans that align with their financial objectives. My focus is not just on numbers, but on crafting strategies that reflect what matters most to my clients and their families.

What is your favorite part about working with clients?

My favorite part of working with clients is getting to know them and building trust-based relationships with each one of them. I enjoy getting to know each client on a personal level and understanding what matters to them. I also find great fulfillment in educating my clients on financial planning and tax strategies that help them save on taxes and achieve their goals. Seeing clients gain confidence in their financial future is what drives me every day.
