Hunter Cloud, CPA, CFPĀ® is a financial advisor based in Kentucky who specializes in helping clients make confident retirement and tax-planning decisions. He began his career in public accounting, where he spent three years as a CPA, before transitioning into advising to focus on creating proactive, high-impact value for clients. His tax background allows him to concentrate on what is controllableāoptimizing cash flow, reducing lifetime tax liability, and aligning financial decisions with long-term goals. Shaped in part by witnessing the financial and personal strain experienced by a close family friend during the 2008 financial crisis, Hunter takes seriously the responsibility of guiding clients through all phases of life. He believes that less is more when it comes to advice, favoring clear, concise communication and an approach rooted in listening, education, and trust.

I began my career as a CPA in public accounting, and after three years, I realized I wasn't adding the kind of value I wanted to for my clients. While filing taxes is crucial for staying compliant with the IRS and state tax departments, I felt a strong desire to offer more proactive support. This inspired me to transition into an advisory role, where I could leverage my tax background to focus on the controllable aspects of a client's financial life. The career change has been the best decision of my professional life, and I truly love what I do.
My passion for this work has also shaped my personal experience. During the 2008 financial crisis, I witnessed a close family friend declare bankruptcy and subsequently go through a divorce. While finances may not have been the sole cause, the experience instilled in me a deep desire to prevent others from facing similar hardships. As an advisor, I have the privilege of guiding clients through lifeās chapters, challenges, and transitions.Ā
Tax optimization and efficiency, cash flow and investment strategies, estate planning, and executive compensation management.
Procter & Gamble employees and retirees, executives with stock compensation, business owners, and individuals approaching or enjoying retirementāour focus is on helping you optimize cash flow and refine tax planning strategies.
I focus on tax planning and optimization because they are crucial aspects to consider when managing your finances. By strategizing efficient ways to minimize tax liabilities and maximize savings, my clients can plan for the future. Additionally, I also help clients with retirement planning, Investment management, and cash flow planning because they are essential for maintaining a healthy financial balance.
I help clients achieve their financial goals through a comprehensive approach that includes:
Developing a retirement cash flow plan designed to minimize lifetime tax liability.
Conducting proactive, annual tax planning to keep more of your hard-earned money in your pocket.
Reviewing your estate plan to ensure your wishes are met.
Ensuring you have adequate risk mitigation strategies in place.
Optimizing your current and future investments.
Establishing a clear investment plan to achieve your long-term goals.
I believe less is more. A 25-page pitch deck can be overwhelming; I prefer to deliver complex material in a simple, one- to two-page format. As a trusted advisor, I believe two of my most important responsibilities are to listen and to educate.
As an extrovert, I thrive on meeting new people and collaborating with diverse individuals, each of whom brings a unique set of circumstances and ambitions. There is nothing more rewarding than listening intently to my clients' needs, crafting a comprehensive roadmap to help them succeed, and witnessing their professional and personal growth firsthand. To me, the ultimate mark of success is when a client entrusts me with their family and friendsāreceiving a referral is the most gratifying compliment an advisor can get.
I have the autonomy to work independently, yet I'm fully supported by top-of-the-line resources, investments, and software. This structure removes the friction many RIA advisors face daily, allowing me to focus on what matters most: my clients. The constant drive to adapt and improve ensures that both advisors and clients have everything they need to succeed.
