I have a deep passion for working with golfers, caddies, and their families, simplifying multi-state planning issues so they can focus on what truly matters. I also specialize in helping small business owners, executives, and 401(k) sponsors optimize their financial strategies. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Business from the University of Nevada, Reno—an R1 Carnegie Research University—and completed my CFP® certification at Bryant University. When I’m not working, you’ll likely find me on the golf course, spending quality time with my family, or engaging with my local community.

I’m Tyson Lokke, a Certified Financial Planner™ with nearly 15 years of experience helping high-net-worth clients navigate complex financial challenges. Throughout my career at firms like United Capital and Goldman Sachs, I’ve remained committed to delivering innovative financial solutions. I specialize in helping clients visualize their wealth, plan strategic exits, and maximize their financial potential while minimizing tax burdens. I have a deep passion for working with golfers, caddies, and their families, simplifying multi-state planning issues so they can focus on what truly matters. My expertise extends to small business owners, executives, and 401(k) sponsors, as well as leading financial planning and portfolio management initiatives at Goldman Sachs for Las Vegas and Reno/Tahoe.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in Business from the University of Nevada, Reno—an R1 Carnegie Research University—and completed my CFP® certification at Bryant University.

Outside of work, you’ll often find me on the golf course, spending quality time with my family, or actively engaging in my local community.

How did you become a financial advisor?

I've always had a profound passion for helping others, particularly when it came to ensuring their financial well-being. My journey into wealth management was fueled by a deep-seated desire to be a trusted source and advocate for the people I care about. I have always been very protective of those around me, and I realized that guiding them through financial decisions was a powerful way to support and empower them.

This protective instinct, combined with a natural curiosity and interest in investing, laid the foundation for my career. I began exploring the world of investments, eager to understand the complexities and opportunities it presented. This fascination evolved into a lifelong commitment to mastering the art of financial advising.

Driven by the goal of providing security and peace of mind, I dedicated myself to gaining the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the financial landscape effectively. Becoming a Wealth Advisor allowed me to merge my passion for helping people with my love for financial strategy, enabling me to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those I serve.

I work with a diverse group of clients, each with unique financial goals and challenges. I partner with high-achieving professionals who are advancing in their careers and seeking strategic financial planning to build and protect their wealth. I also work with entrepreneurs and business owners looking to scale their businesses, optimize cash flow, and implement tax-efficient wealth strategies. Many of my clients are multi-generational families focused on preserving wealth, creating financial stability, and ensuring a seamless transition of assets across generations. Additionally, I have experience working with golfers, providing specialized financial services to manage their business ventures, earnings, sponsorships, tax liabilities, career transitions, and long-term wealth strategies. I also help retirees and pre-retirees navigate retirement by providing guidance on income distribution, investment management, and estate planning to maintain their lifestyle and legacy.

I specialize in building personalized financial strategies that address the complex needs of high-net-worth individuals and families. My investment management approach focuses on crafting customized portfolios and exploring alternative investment opportunities to align with clients’ financial goals. Estate planning is another core area of my practice. I aim to help ensure a seamless transfer of wealth across generations. Additionally, I develop risk management strategies to help identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks. I aim to provide my clients with a comprehensive approach to long-term financial security.

What types of strategies do you usually help clients with? 

My strategies are tailored to each client’s unique financial goals, risk tolerance, and long-term objectives. I focus on building diversified portfolios that align with their desired level of risk while incorporating alternative investments when appropriate.

Tax-efficient planning is a key component of my approach. I help clients navigate Roth conversion strategies to optimize long-term wealth, minimize tax liabilities, and ensure assets are transferred according to their wishes. Estate planning is another priority, ensuring proper documentation, asset titling, and beneficiary designations are in place.

For executives and business owners, I aim to provide guidance on managing concentrated stock positions and maximizing the benefits of net unrealized appreciation (NUA) strategies. I also help families prepare early for education expenses, selecting the right savings vehicles to meet their funding goals.

Whether it’s investment management, estate planning, or risk mitigation, my goal is to develop thoughtful, forward-looking strategies that position clients for long-term financial success.

Through interactive scenario planning, I guide clients in exploring different financial strategies—whether for retirement, tax planning, or wealth transfer—so they can make informed choices with confidence. By combining this with a holistic financial planning process, I ensure that every aspect of a client’s financial life is thoughtfully considered and aligned with their long-term goals.

What is your favorite part about working with clients?  

My favorite part of working with clients is helping them gain confidence in their financial future. I enjoy breaking down complex financial concepts into clear, actionable strategies, ensuring my clients feel informed and in control. Building long-term relationships is just as important to me—I take pride in being an experienced advisor, offering guidance tailored to their unique goals. Helping my clients achieve financial clarity is the most rewarding aspect of my work.
