Hello there! I’m Dave Sharpe, a Wealth Manager specializing in portfolio management, estate planning, business retirement planning, and tax planning. I’m deeply committed to building lasting relationships with my clients and helping them reach their financial goals. To ensure that I’m supporting my clients with the best financial guidance, I consistently strive to obtain the latest industry knowledge. As of today, I hold six designations across retirement planning, portfolio management, fiduciary advisory, and 401(k).

Get to know Dave

Dave Sharpe CRPC®, APMA®, C(k)P®, CRPS®, CPFA®, CLTC®  joined Savvy Wealth in 2025 as a Wealth Manager after working in the industry at Ameriprise Financial, Merrill Lynch and A.G. Edwards.

Prior to his career in the financial services industry, Dave worked as a commercial pilot (and still holds his pilot’s license). Later he attended UCLA’s Anderson School of Management with an emphasis on business retirement plans. Dave has since gone on to attain multiple accreditations and certifications through the College for Financial Planning, demonstrating his commitment to providing the best advice possible.

He spends his days evaluating the needs of his clients and developing strategies designed to help them achieve their goals with his unique background in business retirement plans, retirement income strategies, general financial and estate planning, saving for education, general investments, and portfolio management.

Outside of work, there is nothing Dave enjoys more than spending time with his family, including his wife, four children, and seven grandchildren. George, a Cockapoo, and Norman, a Goldendoodle, complete the family. Dave’s favorite hobbies include boating, golfing, camping, cooking, and drinking wine.

Dave and his wife Lisa are also deeply passionate about music education for children. They started Rock Central, a non-profit community music school, in 2011. Dave continues to serve on the board of directors for the organization.

How did you become a financial advisor?

Over the past 30 years, I’ve had a diverse career path, including roles as a commercial pilot, national sales representative for several companies, manufacturer’s representative, and commodities trader at the Chicago Board of Trade and Chicago Mercantile Exchange. My motivation has always been to pursue a career that combines my diverse experience and allows me to help clients achieve their financial goals. Transitioning to this career has been the perfect culmination of my past roles, giving me a platform to utilize my skills and knowledge to assist clients effectively.

What areas of expertise do you have?

My areas of expertise span investment strategies, portfolio management, estate planning, business retirement planning, and tax planning.

What types of clients do you work with?

My clients span high-net-worth individuals, business owners, entrepreneurs, medical professionals, and pre-retirees. 

What types of strategies do you usually help clients with?

I endeavor to provide sophisticated investment strategies for HNW clients, tactical portfolio management, financial planning, and guidance for business owners.

Is there a unique approach that sets you apart? 

I treat every client as if they were a family member with the highest level of respect & fiduciary responsibility. I implement strategies that are designed to allow clients to enjoy life to the fullest and pass along their wealth for generations to come. I enjoy leveraging technology to assist with every aspect of financial planning and enjoy face-to-face interactions, whichever my clients prefer.

What is your favorite part about working with clients? 

My favorite part about working with clients is the genuine connection I build with them. I love understanding their lives, personalities, habits, routines, and financial goals. I’m passionate about forming lasting relationships and guiding them toward a life where they can focus on what matters most to them.
