Get to know Stanford
Stanford McCullough, JD, CFP®, specializes in income tax planning, wealth transfer and estate planning, philanthropic planning, and asset management for families and entrepreneurs.
Stanford earned his law degree from the S.J. Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah and later completed an LL.M. in Taxation from the University of California, Irvine. He currently serves as Treasurer/Secretary of the Tax Section of the Utah State Bar.
He earned his bachelor’s degree from Utah Valley University in Personal Financial Planning, with a minor in Business Management, and became a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional during his undergraduate studies.
By combining his CFP® designation with advanced legal training in taxation, Stanford helps clients navigate complex financial decisions with clarity—especially when taxes, investments, and long-term legacy planning intersect.
Outside of work, Stanford enjoys spending time with his wife skiing, mountain biking, scuba diving, canyoneering, and playing sports.

I’ve always been drawn to helping people make smart decisions with their money—especially when taxes and long-term planning are involved. I pursued financial planning early, earning my CFP® during undergrad, and later deepened my expertise through law school and an LL.M. in Taxation. That combination allows me to help clients plan with both clarity and precision.
My focus includes income tax planning, estate and wealth transfer planning, philanthropic strategies, and asset management. I specialize in helping clients integrate these areas into one coordinated plan.
I primarily work with families and entrepreneurs who want more intentional planning around taxes, investments, estate planning, and charitable giving—especially as their financial lives become more complex.
I focus on tax planning and optimization because they are crucial aspects to consider when managing your finances. By strategizing efficient ways to minimize tax liabilities and maximize savings, my clients can plan for the future. Additionally, I also help clients with retirement planning, Investment management, and cash flow planning because they are essential for maintaining a healthy financial balance.
I often help clients with proactive tax planning, charitable giving strategies, trust and estate planning coordination, and investment strategies that support long-term goals while keeping taxes in mind.
My background combines financial planning with advanced legal and tax training. That means I’m able to help clients think through planning decisions from multiple angles—so the plan is not only effective, but also aligned with the client’s full tax and estate picture.
Helping clients feel confident about decisions that can otherwise feel overwhelming. When taxes, estate planning, and investments are working together in one cohesive strategy, clients feel more in control—and that’s incredibly rewarding.
