The best way to help someone achieve their financial goals is to understand them as a person, not treat them as a number. When I know what matters to you, what keeps you up at night, what you're working toward, the planning gets better. That's the part I enjoy most.

How did you become a financial advisor?

I studied Economics in college, so the interest in investment management was always there. After graduating, I started my own firm and quickly realized that the best way to help families achieve their financial goals is as a fiduciary advisor. That principle has shaped how the firm has been built from day one.

What areas of expertise do you have?

I've spent over 20 years in finance, including time at Goldman Sachs as a Vice President working with retail investors. I hold the CFPÂź designation, which means every recommendation I make is held to the highest fiduciary and planning standards. As for what we do best at Paragon, it really comes down to getting your investments and your taxes on the same page. I manage portfolios using individual stocks and bonds so you have full transparency and tax control, and I actively harvest tax losses throughout the year. Paragon also handles tax preparation and planning through our integrated tax practice, Paragon Tax, so nothing falls through the cracks between your investment strategy and your tax return. I build retirement income plans around the details that matter, like Roth conversion timing and Social Security optimization. Paragon also works with a number of business owners who are navigating growth, a transition, or an eventual sale. The common thread is simple: your investments and your taxes should be managed by the same team.

What types of clients do you work with?

We work with professionals, executives, and business owners in the Franklin, Brentwood, and Nashville area who want their investment management and tax planning working together, not in separate silos. Most of our clients have anywhere from $2 million or more in investable assets and are either approaching retirement or recently retired. What they have in common is a desire for one trusted team who knows their complete financial picture, not just their portfolio.

What types of strategies do you usually help clients with?

At Paragon, the strategies I focus on most are the ones where your investments and your taxes need to work together, things like active tax-loss harvesting, Roth conversion timing, retirement income planning, and helping business owners navigate liquidity events like a sale or merger. I build portfolios with individual stocks and bonds so we have the control to execute those strategies with precision. And because we handle tax preparation through Paragon Tax, every strategy we build actually shows up on your tax return.

Is there a unique approach that sets you apart?

What sets Paragon apart is that I manage your investments and your taxes under one roof. Most advisors manage your portfolio and then hand you off to a separate CPA who has no idea what happened in your accounts all year. I close that gap. Every investment decision I make is built with your tax return in mind, and every tax return reflects what actually happened in your portfolio. That coordination is rare, and it's where the real savings show up.

What is your favorite part about working with clients?

My favorite part is getting to know the families I work with on a personal level. That's actually why we limit the number of clients we take on at Paragon. The best way to help someone achieve their financial goals is to understand them as a person, not treat them as a number. When I know what matters to you, what keeps you up at night, what you're working toward, the planning gets better. That's the part I enjoy most.

Working with Savvy

Savvy is the perfect balance of technology and human touch. Their platform handles the operational side of running a firm, which allows me to focus on the most important part of my business: the families we work with. The better my back office runs, the more time I get to spend doing what I actually love, which is sitting across the table from clients and helping them build a plan they feel confident in.
