Andrea Nolan

My name is Andrea Nolan, and I have served as a financial advisor to families and businesses since 1998. I began my career at Merrill Lynch and in 2008 I joined Ancora West to help build their wealth advisory practice. I work with high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients from all walks of life to help create portfolios that last a lifetime. I cultivate relationships with a “client-first” approach, centered on consistent communication and education about the decisions that impact their financial futures. It goes without saying that confidentiality is paramount, but I happen to take pride in building that trust.

How did you become a financial advisor?

Before becoming a financial advisor, I played collegiate basketball at Cal Berkley and UNLV. With aspirations to go into sports management, I got to know people in the community through the UNLV Athletics Department. Then, through a local connection, I ended up at Merril Lynch in a two-year training program that launched my career as a financial advisor. Since then, my financial career has spanned 27 years.

What areas of expertise do you have?

I have experience in the areas of portfolio management, tax-saving strategies, and business development. For portfolio management, our team leverages a proprietary algorithm that helps us sift through quantitative investment data and help pinpoint the most undervalued opportunities in the market. We use this data to inform our decisions on which investments might be right for our clients and then make recommendations. On the tax side, I’m big on helping clients actively manage their taxes on a daily basis, where many advisors may just focus on it at one critical time during the year.

What types of clients do you work with?

I work with high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients from all walks of life. My clients range across industries and have obtained their wealth in various ways. I’m focused on helping them retain their wealth and target growth opportunities, in line with their unique needs and goals.

What types of strategies do you usually help clients with?

My strategies are based on macroeconomics and fundamental analysis, which help form my investment recommendations to my clients. I also help clients with tax-saving strategies that go beyond the one-time-a-year check-in on taxes done by most financial advisors. I also help clients with risk management strategies since a key component of managing assets is understanding their risk tolerance and aiming to balance that risk and reward when the markets are down.

Is there a unique approach that sets you apart?

Client experience is everything to me. I’m dedicated to making the experience as minimally stressful and complicated as possible. If you’ve met me, you know that I enjoy talking to people from all walks of life. This skill has helped me connect with clients on a deeper level, understand their needs, and be able to support them in achieving their financial goals.

What is your favorite part about working with clients?

My two favorite parts of working with clients are building trusted relationships and helping them achieve financial goals.

Working with Savvy

Savvy provides an easy experience where it’s quick and easy to look for information. It’s especially useful when I work in tandem with CPAs and estate planning attorneys.
